Zac Posen Slammed for Using Mostly Black Models — Even Though His Collection Was Inspired by a Black Princess | Black Girl with Long Hair

Posen made this statement to Harper’s Bazaar:

Since the inspiration was Elizabeth of Toro it made sense to have a casting reflecting this. Their presence and the diversity of the casting complemented the collection and made it more striking. … We live in a diverse world and it is essential it is represented in the fashion industry—it has always been critical to me, as well as a key component of my collections—whether it’s shapes, sizes or skin color—as my customers are global and part of all diverse groups.

This is an amazing shot of The North Sea of Scotland.  Not once did I venture to Scotland during my living tenure in the United Kingdom. I am both disappointed in myself and ashamed.  -@Efabulous1

There is this juxtaposition for Americans of African descent that the world holds… they hold that we want all things urban and “new world” all the time.  This is not true.  There is a place in mind, I have lived since I was a child that looked like this.  It was not set in America, it was set in France, in Italy in Greek.  I longed for a simple, very simple life in which I smiled and there was just love, passion, discovery and seclusion…. sometimes a very mysterious loneliness that was unholy and tapped into the very depths of my soul… and all of that glorious play of humanity would be in a place like this… so beautiful.

Lost in the lily pads — A Chinese boatman (L) takes tourists for a ride amongst water lily pads at Zizhuyuan Park, which translates as Purple Bamboo Park, in Beijing on August 12, 2013.  The number of tourists visiting China’s capital fell by more than 14 percent in the first half of this year compared to 2012, with air pollution blamed for the decline.
